Hospices of Hope is a UK charity dedicated to supporting the development of hospice and palliative care centers in Eastern Europe by providing technical expertise, training, funding and networking with partner countries.
In 1992, Mr. Graham Perrols, director of Hospices of Hope, brought the concept of hospice and palliative care to Romania and founded the first palliative care unit, Hospice Casa Speranței, in Braşov.
Hospices of Hope through Mr. Graham Perrols has since 1996 offered consultancy and support to our colleague Marinela Rotariu to lay the foundations for the Emanuel Hospice program in Oradea. As of 2021, Emanuel Hospice is officially part of the Hospices of Hope network, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
Hospices of Hope UK, as a partner organization, supports Emanuel Hospice in the development and implementation of innovative practice services, training of staff and partners, development of educational programs and funding, with the aim of Emanuel Hospice contributing to the improvement of palliative care in Romania.
The Hospices of Hope network has members in Romania, Moldova, Greece, Ukraine, Albania and Serbia.
